Why PV1RX

A letter from our founder.

I started behind the counter.

Over the nearly thirty years since, I've run pharmacies in almost every setting there is: chain, independent, health system, specialty, long-term care, central fill, digital, and 340B. I've run a single store, and I've run more than a hundred on one P&L. I've acquired independent pharmacies, integrated them, and sat across the table from PBMs and PSAOs negotiating the contracts that decide what a prescription is worth.

Here's what all of that taught me.

The independent owner is the only person in the transaction who doesn't have the full picture. The PBM knows what it paid you and what it billed the plan. The wholesaler knows what you bought and what it earned. The PSAO knows how your claims adjudicated. Each of them has analysts, systems, and reports built to answer its own questions. The owner has a pharmacy system, a wholesaler portal, a stack of remittances, a bank statement, a drawer of contracts, and a store to run. Nobody hands you one page that puts it all together.

That's why the Deep Dive exists.

Every prescription you fill has four numbers: what you bought it for, what you dispensed, what you were paid, and what your contract says you were owed. Put those four numbers on the same page and the business starts telling you things. Which plans you're filling at a loss. Which fees show up after the claim is paid. Which vendors are worth what you pay them. Where your team's hours actually go. The Deep Dive puts them on the same page, and then someone who has run pharmacies tells you what matters and what to do first.

That's also why Verticals exists.

Protecting margin matters, but you can't cut your way to a stronger pharmacy. The owners I've watched build durable businesses found a second engine: long-term care, specialty, clinical services, a facility relationship, a prescriber community nobody was serving well. More often than not, it was a few miles away the whole time. Verticals maps what's around you and tells you honestly which of those opportunities fit your pharmacy, and which don't.

Why thirty days?

Because the hard part isn't the math. It's knowing what the numbers mean. Decades in this business taught me what a normal remittance looks like, where fees hide, and which contract terms matter and which don't. We've built business intelligence tools that do the slow work, lining up months of transactions, contracts, and public market data, so our time goes where it should: on judgment, and on the conversation with you. That's what makes a thorough engagement possible in thirty days instead of months.

Why one flat price?

Because you've been nickel-and-dimed enough. Every vendor in this industry has a fee schedule, an add-on, a renewal, a percentage. I didn't want PV1RX to be one more. So the price is published, you pay it once, and it doesn't change. No percentage of what we find. No retainer. No recurring fee. Nobody paying us on the side to steer you anywhere.

If the work is useful, you'll tell other owners, and you might ask us to stay involved. That's the only way I want to earn the next conversation.

Independent pharmacy is worth fighting for. The first step is seeing it clearly.
